Safety.....
The safety of your pet is of utmost importance to Paws Outdoors. You can be assured of personal and professional care at all times and no unnecessary risks will be taken.
- While in the care of a Paws Outdoors handler all dogs will wear a Paws Outdoors identification tag with our contact details on them.
- Paws Outdoors will keep on file details of your pet’s regular Veterinarian, past/present medical history and emergency contact details.
- When dogs are walked in the early morning, or late evening Paws Outdoors will supply a reflective lead for your dog, and handlers will wear reflective clothing to improve their visibility.
- Where your dog is involved in a group session, Paws Outdoors requires proof of current vaccination records and written verification of regular administration of flea and worming treatments.

- Dogs will be walked on lead at all times unless we have written authority from the owner giving permission to walk them off lead. Dogs will then be walked off lead in Registered Dog Exercise Areas as designated by the Cairns City Council only if the Paws Outdoors handler is confident your dog responds well to commands.
- Paws Outdoors reserves the right not to walk bitches in season and dogs with aggressive behaviour.
- Where aggressive behaviour is displayed while with a Paws Outdoors handler we reserve the right to muzzle your animal and cease the session immediately. Such behaviour will be discussed with the owner and a plan of action determined.
- At no time do Paws Outdoors handlers condone the use of harsh or abusive discipline measures. We use only positive reinforcement and food treats to achieve desired behaviours and to assist with compliance. Paws Outdoors follows all National and Federal Regulations regarding humane treatment of animals.

- Dogs will have access to fresh water at all time during their time spent with Paws Outdoors.
- Where transport of your dog is provided, it will be restrained at all times during travel. Your pet will travel in air-conditioned comfort with access to fresh water. Dogs are never left unattended in a Paws Outdoors vehicle.
- All Paws Outdoors’ handlers have knowledge of Canine First Aid and a first aid kit will be on-hand during all sessions. We also have 24 hour emergency veterinary support.
